If you are an employee or student of another institution, you may run into an issue where attempting to log into your Motlow State email redirects you to the other institution's email.

Why does this happen?

This happens because the other institution and Motlow State both use Office 365 for their email service. Unfortunately, Microsoft is unable to determine which institution is the correct one to go to, and therefore sends you to your last logged in Office 365 email. This can also happen in reverse, where attempting to go to another institution's email causes you to be redirected to your Motlow State email instead.

How can I fix this?

There are a few ways you can fix this.

  1. Completely sign out of Office 365 Mail. You can do this by clicking your name in the top-right of the screen, then click on Sign out.

  2. Use a different web browser for Motlow State activities. For example, if you're using Google Chrome for another institution, try using Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox for Motlow State activities. This will allow you to keep those two instances separate so you can work in both of them.
  3. Use a private or incognito window to log into Motlow State or your other institution. This will allow you to log into both places at the same time and continue work.
